Need Help Financing your College Education?

See us for a Student Loan!

MHPFCU offers Federal Family Education Loans. We will be happy to guide you through applying for federal financial aid and completing the application process for one of the types of student loans available through this government-backed program.

Loans for Students:

Dependent and independent undergraduate, graduate, and professional students may qualify for both subsidized and unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans.

  • Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan. It is called a “subsidized” loan because the government pays the interest on the loan while the student's status is "in school," "grace," or "eligible deferment."

  • Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan. On this loan, the student is solely responsible for paying the interest, but can request to have interest payments deferred.

Loans for Parents:

·         Federal Parental Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS). PLUS loans are available to parents or stepparents of dependent undergraduate students. These loans are not based on financial need, but students must go through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process before parents can receive this loan since the parents' information is requested on the FAFSA
